Gold Medal Finish at Corlears Sports Day

This school year, we have had a blast hosting themed creative STEM workshops at Corlears School, and on the first Saturday of this month, Sports Day was theme. Families had the opportunity to engage in three different stations: Table Sports, Olympic Medals, and Sports Jerseys!

At the Olympic Medals station, the scene was set. Everyone had just won a medal, and the icing on the cake was that they got to design and produce their medals! Did they win gold medals? Silver? Rainbow? They each started with laser cut medals, which then embellished with color, gems, and stickers. Ribbons were added at the end.

Table Sports was a popular station, where kids chose a sport then created corresponding balls with origami! Origami soccer balls, footballs, and other types of balls were then tossed into goals and fields that kids crafted from boxes and popsicle sticks.

Families were asked, What team do YOU play for? at the Sports Jerseys station. Each person got to decorate a jersey and then got a popsicle stick to attach to the back, which they held up to their chins for silly pictures!
