Lysol, the #1 most trusted and pediatrician-recommended disinfecting brand in the US, in collaboration with The GIANT Room, an innovation lab for teachers, students, and their families, is launching a series of Science Kits, called “Minilabs,” for schools as part of their HERE for Healthy Schools initiative. Lysol Minilabs Science Kits will be donated to a limited number of Title 1 elementary schools around the United States at the beginning of 2024-25 school year. Elementary school admins, district admins, teachers, cluster science and/or health teachers, are invited to request to receive these kits for their classrooms.

Lysol’s HERE for Healthy Schools program is intended to reduce school absenteeism through creating hands-on activities that are fun and engaging while teaching the science of germs, and better hygiene behaviors. Designed for grades 1 to 2, these kits are curated to educate students about the science of germs and encourage healthy hygiene habits. Each selected classroom will receive a total of three Lysol Minilabs Science Kits throughout the school year. Each kit includes hands-on materials for the whole classroom, engaging lesson plans aligned with NGSS Standards, and resources for teachers for easy and effective implementation.

To submit your request, please fill out the form on this page. Those who are selected will receive the first of three kits starting in September.

Important Dates:

  • September: Selected classrooms will receive their first Lysol Minilabs Science Kit

  • November: Selected classrooms will receive their second Lysol Minilabs Science Kit

  • March 2025: Selected classrooms will receive their third Lysol Minilabs Science Kit

Please read The GIANT Room’s privacy policy and Terms and Conditions for the program.

These interactive workshops will allow parents, teachers and kids to experience kit creation firsthand and enjoy a day of fun germ education.

Lysol® will also invite parents, teachers and kids to join the science kit journey online, encouraging them to share their input on social media to make the most engaging science kit possible.

  •  Lysol® Disinfecting Wipes and Lysol® Disinfectant Spray are essential in the back-to-school season because they kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria* on many germ hotspots in the classroom and home and help fight back against the spread of preventable illness.

  • Lysol® Disinfecting Wipes help clean and disinfect many hard surfaces around your classroom like desks, chairs, and doorknobs.  Lysol® Disinfectant Spray can be used to disinfect so many of those hard and soft surfaces around the classroom that can be germ hotspots.
