About The Program:
Lysol®, the #1 most trusted and pediatrician-recommended disinfecting brand in the US, in collaboration with The GIANT Room, an innovation lab for teachers, students, and their families, has designed this series of Science Kits, called “Minilabs,” for schools as part of their HERE for Healthy Schools initiative. Lysol® Minilabs Science Kits have been donated to 4000 Title 1 elementary classrooms around the United States at the beginning of 2024-25 school year. In addition, we have made it possible for educators and parents to access all digital materials free of charge so they can implement the program even if they don't have access to the physical kits.
Lysol® HERE for Healthy Schools program is intended to reduce school absenteeism through creating hands-on activities that are fun and engaging while teaching the science of germs, and better hygiene behaviors. Designed for grades 1 and 2, these kits are curated to educate students about the science of germs and encourage healthy hygiene habits. Each selected classroom will receive a total of three Lysol® Minilabs Science Kits throughout the school year. Each kit includes hands-on materials for the whole classroom (up to 30 students); engaging lesson plans aligned with NGSS, TEKS, National Health Standards, and Common Core Standards; and, resources for teachers for easy and effective implementation.
All activities, lesson plans, and resources have been co-designed with teachers, kids, and families.
