Build a bird house

DESCRIPTION: Winter is one of the best seasons for bird watching! How can you attract them to your window or backyard? Join this workshop to design your own bird feeder and see what flies by for a snack. Grab recycled materials like cardboard, containers, sticks, string and papers to construct with as well as some tasty bird treats like seeds or popcorn that you can entice them with. This workshop is a wonderful blend of science, engineering, literacy, and arts.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Reid is a maker educator with a passion for creating hands-on experiences that combine high and low tech. He was the Director of the Creative Lab at OliOli, the first hands-on children’s museum in Dubai. He had been with the museum since it opened in 2017 and worked on (Probably) The World's Largest Paper Marble Run with hundreds of students. He comes from a tech-art background creating interactive LED installations, pirate radio stations, and rainbow photo booths.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Cardboard, paper (white and color), markers, scissor, glue or tape, optional: a marble or play dough
