Coding Microbit: Weather Display

DESCRIPTION: Did you know Microbits can sense the temperature? Code your microcontroller to display a sunshine or an image of a t-shirt when it’s warm outside, a “fabulous” sign when its just the right temperature, and maybe a warning sign when its super cold? Design the best weather teller accessory and test it out with friends and family on different days of the year!

Recommended for ages 8-12

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Jamie Solis is a working DJ and educator who specializes in childhood development and digital technologies. She has an MA in Design and Development of Digital Games from the Teachers College at Columbia University focusing on digital music learning for young children, and a BS in Childhood & Special Education from NYU. In her practice, Jamie has observed the various manifestations of music in children’s daily lives and the ways in which technology shape those experiences.
