May Club on Fridays: LEGO & Stop Motion Animation

lego+club.png

DESCRIPTION: For kids who dare to build their own world, brick by brick!

Participants will dream new ideas, build them with LEGO, and create stop motion animation shorts! Every week we’ll learn new construction techniques, explore best practices and common mistakes, think about new possibilities, brainstorm ideas, and build new models with LEGO. We’ll then learn stop motion animation practices and bring our LEGO models to life through short animation clips. This program is a wonderful blend of ideation, tactile construction, and digital animation art.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Claire Johannes studied printmaking and animation at School of the Art Institute Chicago. She continues her creative pursuits in music and video editing. She considers herself an empath, and absorbs the energy of NYC like a sponge. Working and creating with today’s bright youth is such a positive experience for her. She only hopes to inspire them as much as they inspire her.
