DESCRIPTION: For kids who dare to make dragons out of pulleys! From self portraits to pulleys, speed boats, vacuum cleaners, dragons, unicorns and everything in between, participants dream of new creations and bring them to life with Rigamajig, Spinning Tops, LEGO, Clixo, Strawbees, and even their own fabricated construction tools! Participants will learn about simple machines, get challenges to think creatively, and will have hours and hours and hours of building and play time.
Rigamajig building set, designed by Cas Holman, contains 100s of pieces, planks of different sizes, forms, and colors, connectors, bolts and nuts, ropes, wheels, and more to build literally anything you can imagine. Clixo is an innovative, creative tool for kids to click and construct 3D creations from flexible 2D shapes and powerful and safe magnets - super easy and incredibly fun to play with. Strawbees is a construction set to build things that can stand, move, spin, glide, or even walk across the floor. You can build structures, mechanical contraptions, and robotic mechanisms all with these 4 connectors that fit into straws! In addition, participants will be encouraged to design their own building sets using cardboard, wood, and fabrication machines at The GIANT Room. This workshop series is a dream for kids who love to build things!
