DESCRIPTION: For techie kids who care to be mindful!
We’ll turn the classroom into a sensational and “smart” self-care lab! From experimenting with different chemical solutions to finding the best formula for your bath bombs, to designing your own gadgets such as DIY hand warmers, emotion badge, step counter, soothing lights, interactive music, mesmerizing spin art machines, fidget spinner toys, or even smart code-able temperature controllers! Participants will engage in social emotional learning and self reflection, learn about material science, do scientific experiments, discuss best self-care practices, and learn about micro-controllers and coding as they design smart gadgets that promotes well-being. We’ll dream, learn, design, experiment, meditate, share, and simply have a mindful time together.
Students will be divided into groups based on their age and skillset.
Recommended for ages 5-12
FORMAT: In Person at PS 33
DATES: Wednesdays at 3:00-5:00pm (Pick up is from 5-5:30pm), from Feb 7th to Jun. 12th (skipping Feb 21, Apr 10, Apr 24 for public school holidays)
