DESCRIPTION: For curious kids who want to make waves through unexpected objects! Join this workshop if you want to learn how electric current flows and experiment to find out what surprising materials can sustain electricity. They will be invited to become circuit designers and scientists that will experiment on fruits, vegetables and more to see what kind of waves they can make! Turn everyday objects like bananas into touchpads, surprising sounds, or perhaps magical lights! Come and experiment with us.

Recommended for ages 5 to 12

WORKSHOP LENGTH: 1.5 hour + Complimentary 1 hour access to GIANT Open Studio after the workshop

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS: This workshop will be lead by GIANT founders, Dr. Azi Jamalian, and Dr. Jessica Mezei. Azi has a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education from Columbia University and bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering. Azi loves designing programs and tools for children to learn new things with confidence and joy. Jess has a PhD in Science Education from Columbia University. A former teacher and informal educator, from camps to classrooms, she brings curiosity and care to set the stage for learning.
