Workshop: Code Robots to Play Music or Make Art #2

DESCRIPTION: In this workshop children become coders, robot builders, musicians and artists! They will be invited to learn fundamentals in coding (variables, functions, loops, and logic statements), build their own robots with littleBits electronic building blocks, program Dash robots by Wonder Workshop, and code their robots to play music or create an art piece to be installed in the GIANT Wave Makers Festival.

Recommended for ages 5-12

WORKSHOP LENGTH: 1.5 hour + Complimentary 1 hour access to GIANT Open Studio after the workshop

TIME: 3:30 to 5pm on June 24th

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS: This workshop will be lead by GIANT founders, Dr. Azi Jamalian, and Dr. Jessica Mezei. Azi has a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education from Columbia University and bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering. Azi loves designing programs and tools for children to learn new things with confidence and joy. Jess has a PhD in Science Education from Columbia University. A former teacher and informal educator, from camps to classrooms, she brings curiosity and care to set the stage for learning.
