Games and Tricks: Finger Traps

DESCRIPTION: For kids who dare to design fun and original games to play! We'll learn how to make finger traps using paper, and design fun games involving finger traps. We'll then playtest each other games, give and receive feedback! This workshop is a wonderful blend of game design, origami, paper engineering, and design thinking.

Recommended for ages 5-9

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Azadeh (Azi) Jamalian is the founder of The GIANT Room. She has a PhD in cognitive studies in education from Teachers College Columbia University, masters degree in instructional technology focused on game design, and bachelor of applied sciences in systems engineering. Azi has published journal articles and book chapters on a broad range of topics such as designing learning platforms for children, emerging educational tech, game design, mathematical education, and cognition.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Paper (white and color), markers, scissor, glue or tape

PRICE: $20/session OR $75 for 5 sessions (you’ll save $5/session with purchase of a package)
