How to make glow in dark snacks

DESCRIPTION: Design your own out of this world glowing food menu. Taste test the treats you'll serve up. Grab some special ingredients around your kitchen and join in some glow in the dark fun! Uncover the chemical underpinnings of different solutions or compounds that when added to different foods make them glow. You'll use these secret but common ingredients and experiment adding it to different snacks to make some tasty glowing treats and drinks. This workshop is a wonderful mix of science and design.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Jessica H. is a digital designer and educator focused on helping children use technology in creative ways. She currently teaches science, previously having taught math, literacy, and art. Although always learning new creative technologies, Jessica is well-versed in a variety of tools and mediums such as Scratch, Python, web design, paper circuitry, littleBits, animation, and more. She holds a BFA degree from Parsons School of Design in Creative Technologies.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Lemon or Lime jello, tonic water, mixing bowls, spoons, Lemons, water, sugar, glass. flashlight, tape, blue sharpie.

PRICE: $20/session OR $75 for 5 sessions (you’ll save $5/session with purchase of a package)
