How to Draw: Skin Tones

DESCRIPTION: Inspired by the work of artist, Angélica Dass, we’ll learn techniques to draw various skin tones. We’ll explore different skin tones by studying Dass Cubes, learn techniques to draw different skin tones, draw our own self portraits, and share! This is a wonderful workshop to learn about the beauty of human skin color and importance of representation and diversity in our work.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Hazal Mestci is a creative technologist and interactive designer from Turkey. She studied design, communication, technology and film at the Parsons School of Design. With the long lasting sense of pleasure of mixing tradition and innovation, she designs projects reflecting power structures, politics, play and education. She teaches stop-motion animation, storytelling with illustration, 3D printing, collage, sound design, game design, coding and electronics, as well as yoga, arts, math and science.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Paper and something to draw with. OPTIONAL: Lyra Skin Tone pencils, small mirror

PRICE: $20/session OR $75 for 5 sessions (you’ll save $5/session with purchase of a package)
