DIY Clay and Modeling

DESCRIPTION: Create an assortment of things that excite and inspire! Learn simple techniques for making clay, modling and sculpting it. Use your models for props in your stories, or figurines to play with or to mimic things you see around you. Decide the direction you want to take your clay creations and make an army of cats with torches in hand, or yummy looking food or even birds you see out your window.

Recommended for ages 4-10

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Nathier is a multidisciplinary designer, researcher and artist, with a Master’s in Interactive Telecommunications [ITP] from NYU. As a designer, she creates rich visual landscapes that materialize in sets, experiences and interactive installations. Her current research focuses on the relationship between human and non-human interactions and what arises when emerging technologies are involved. She has an interest in living materials and possible intersections between biological and computational systems.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Corn Starch, Instant Jello Powder, Cream of Tatar, Water. Optional: food coloring, googley eyes, pom poms, feathers, etc.

PRICE: $20/session OR $75 for 5 sessions (you’ll save $5/session with purchase of a package)
