DESCRIPTION: Bring your imagination to life in this 3D modeling camp. Whether designing your own toys, gadgets, and sidekicks, or building your 3D printed city, this camp will equip campers with the fundamental understanding and experience with the software and hardware for custom 3D printing. Campers will spend the week using a CAD (computer-aided design) software program called Tinkercad. They will learn how to break down real-world objects into 3D shapes, construct their 3D models in the software, and add fine details for amazing custom 3D designs. In addition to Tinkercad, they will spend time designing in Sculptris, which is a virtual sculpting software program with a primary focus on the concept of digital modeling clay. Further, they explore the process of 3D printing, from software to hardware. Campers have the option to request for their designs to be printed at GIANT studio, see a video of the process of its printing, and have them mail to them (additional mailing fees apply).
